Atonement

In between classes today I thought it would be interesting to watch some old conference talks and see if anything jumped out at me to write on my blog. Quickly I became intrigued with Elder Packer's talk titled "The Reason for Our Hope."
All members know the importance of the atonement but Elder Packer goes into more detail about how the atonement can be used every single day. He referred to a women who was upset about something and wanted vengeance. That is not a feeling from Heavenly Father, but from the adversary. Everything happens for a reason and when we get those feelings, we need to remember that God's plan is more important than how we feel right now.
Using the atonement to find happiness and peace is a true blessing and shouldn't be taken for granted. We were given this gift and should use it as often as we can! The gift of hope as Elder Packer refers to it as and it truly brings so much hope to my life!

  2. It used to be so hard for me to forgive people. I thought they had done something wrong so they needed to be punished and I somehow thought me angry towards them was good punishment. One of my favorite aspects of the atonement is not how I can be forgiven (although that is a very important part), but how I can forgive others. It's had to put your trust in the Lord and let Him do what he deems right, but it's worth it.
